Isn't the Earth Billions of Years Old, and Does That Disprove Six-Day Creation?
The theory of an “old Earth” (that our planet formed about 4.54 billion years ago) is largely based on radiometric dating methods. However, even if we accept the accuracy of those methods, God is by definition Almighty - capable of creating a fully formed and mature Earth out of nothing, just as He created Adam and Eve as adults. By itself, a scientific estimate of age does not disprove God or His account of creation in six days.
We may ask: “Why would God create a planet with rocks that appear extremely old if that would lead scientists to doubt six-day creation?”
We believe that, in such a case, this would be an intentional detail. If we adopt that hypothesis, God may have intended the focus of religious rivalry throughout history to shift from the simpler relationship of monotheism versus polytheism toward more complex concepts: creationism versus evolutionism, or belief in God versus complete atheism. In this way, humanity’s relationship with the Creator has itself developed through the centuries.
The “Milder” Punishment: The World Before the Flood
In ancient times, all people were creationists by their very nature, although most believed in one supreme god (which was a distorted version of Yahweh) alongside many other deities. When God’s wrath was poured out upon such humanity, the Flood followed.
It is interesting to note that Noah was saved by building the ark. If anyone at that time had taken the warning seriously, gone to Noah, or built a smaller ark of their own with food supplies, they would have survived. For that reason, this event can in a certain sense be viewed as a “milder” punishment compared with what follows.
The “Severe” Punishment: The Modern Age and Atheism
Today, a significant part of the world’s population accepts evolutionism. Hundreds of millions of people identify as monotheists, yet in practice neglect the basic commandments of their sacred books. In addition, hundreds of millions do not believe in the existence of God at all - a phenomenon of more recent history, since atheism became a mass ideology during the last hundred years.
If we take 1917 and the October Revolution as a turning point - when atheism was first institutionalized on a state and mass level - an interesting biblical parallel appears. Before the Flood, God gave humanity exactly 120 years to change its path before catastrophe followed.
When that period of 120 years is applied to 1917, we arrive at the year 2037.
For the second great civilizational catastrophe, prophecy (most famously Revelation) announces circumstances far more severe than those during the Flood. This time, salvation does not depend only on physical preparation, but on God’s supernatural intervention - together with necessary wisdom and practical preparation. Noah himself was not passive despite direct communication with God, but prepared extensive food supplies for his family and the creatures aboard the ark.
What Are We Actually Suggesting?
We are suggesting that all the world’s ideas and religions (including conventional science) have a particular role in historical development that God has permitted. We believe that the complete picture contains harmony and the fulfillment of prophetic patterns. No detail has been left to chance - everything unfolds for a reason and a purpose.
